Cultivating Mindfulness

  • Mindfulness is the practice of living and being in the moment, keenly aware of one's present circumstances
  • Requires awareness - focus on your breathing, attend to your thoughts, notice your surroundings
  • Be present
  • Benefits of mindfulness include reduced stress, improved mood and overall well-being, lower blood  pressure, better sleep
  • Mindfulness apps - Breethe, Calm, Smiling Mind, Headspace
